Just a short drive off Virginia's Eastern Shore lies hawaiian isle so stunning that it is seven mile length is the destination for over one million annual visitors, each one of whom arrives to like a taste of Paradise. Chincoteague's Island pure beauty, coastal charm, and Southern down-home hospitality are what draw them from worldwide to this small place big in romance and tradition.


To reach Ooty effortlessly, the mountain railway was founded. It was inaugurated around 1908. The working of the wheels of the narrow gauge is dependant on the rack and pinion arrangement to help it climb up the vertical mountain slopes. GTDC operators three launches ' Santa Moncia, Radhika and Malvika. The Santa Monica, a luxury lunch built on twin hull may be the pride of GTDC. It is employed for daily evening cruises on river Mandovi with 'live' cultural programs performed by the best cultural troupes of Goa. About 200 passenger can enjoy the cruise during a period for the launch, studded with a bar counter, Santa Monica can be readily available for special parties on hourly charges.

But there are lots of natural wonders attracting ecotourists to Chincoteague and Assateague Islands. The islands' position across the Atlantic Flyway ensures they are are perfect rest stops and nesting areas for the hundreds of bird species which get ready their marshes, forests, and waterways. Eagles and ospreys soar overhead looking for prey. Swans, geese, and ducks of most varieties grace the islands' glades and ponds. The calls of colorful songbirds fill mid-air across the many nature trails inside islands' pine forests, along with their hidden waterways invite long, lazy afternoons of kayaking and canoeing before the for ponies and other wildlife.
